Yolanda Chaytor, 30, a mother of three, was fatally shot in the early morning hours Sunday at Maxwell’s restaurant near Harrison Street and Independence Boulevard in Chicago, Illinois.
According to preliminary information, Chicago police officers responded at approximately 3:37 a.m. to reports of shots fired and a person shot in the parking lot of Maxwell’s. Officers found a woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to her head and body.
The woman, initially unidentified, was transported to Stroger Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Police said Chaytor had been involved in a verbal altercation with an offender before the shooting. The offender allegedly produced a firearm and shot her before fleeing the scene in a silver SUV.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting, including the events that led to the altercation and the identity and whereabouts of the person responsible.
Yolanda’s death has left her family and loved ones grieving the loss of a 30-year-old mother whose life was tragically cut short.
