GRAND BLANC, Mich. — The Grand Blanc community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Dr. Angela Lusty Thomas, a compassionate veterinarian, devoted wife, loving mother, cherished daughter, and treasured friend whose sudden passing has left family, colleagues, clients, and friends grieving.
Known affectionately as Angie or Dr. Lusty, Angela was remembered as a kind, gentle, and generous person who consistently offered encouragement and support to those around her. Her work as a veterinarian reflected her lifelong love of animals, and many clients trusted her with the care of their beloved pets.
Angela built a career dedicated to veterinary medicine and became part of the leadership of Pierson Pet Hospital in Davison. In 2023, she and a colleague purchased the practice following the retirement of its founder, beginning a new chapter in her professional career.
Her colleagues at the hospital are now mourning the loss of someone they considered part of their professional family. Those who worked alongside Angela remembered her not only for her dedication and skill but also for her warmth, compassion, and willingness to help others.
Above all, Angela treasured her family. She and her husband, Nick Thomas, married in 2015 and welcomed four children: Nathan in 2018, Liam in 2020, Aiden in 2022, and Nora in 2024. Their family was at the center of Angela’s life, and her role as a mother was among the relationships she valued most deeply.
According to the family’s account, Angela’s illness progressed with devastating speed. On August 1, she sought emergency medical care after experiencing back pain and shortness of breath. She was subsequently diagnosed with ovarian cancer that had already spread to multiple organs. Despite hopes that she would recover, complications became too severe.
Her passing less than two weeks later has left her family, friends, colleagues, and community struggling to process the sudden loss.
Angela leaves behind her husband, four young children, extended family, friends, veterinary colleagues, and countless clients whose lives she touched through her work and compassion. Her absence will be deeply felt by her family, at Pierson Pet Hospital, and throughout the Grand Blanc community.
As those closest to Angela prepare to say goodbye, loved ones are asking the community to surround the Thomas family with compassion, prayers, and support during this extraordinarily difficult time.
Our deepest condolences go to Nick, their four children, Angela’s family, friends, colleagues, clients, and everyone who knew and loved her. May the memories of Angela’s kindness, dedication, laughter, and love provide comfort and strength in the days ahead.
May Dr. Angela Lusty Thomas rest peacefully. Her devotion to her family, compassion for animals, and kindness toward others will remain an enduring part of the legacy she leaves behind.
