According to Virginia State Police, the collision occurred at approximately 3:40 a.m. along Interstate 95 in Caroline County. Authorities reported that a disabled semi-truck was parked on the right shoulder when it was struck by a 2011 Honda CR-V driven by Korytkowski. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Korytkowski was a member of Michigan State University’s ACHA Men’s Division II Hockey program, where he also served as team captain. His leadership, dedication, and presence on and off the ice made him an important part of the program.
